Columbus, Ohio — After their automobile was recently wrecked in an accident, an Ohio family whose 1-year-old son is awaiting a heart transplant got a kind donation.
Rayshaun and Michelle Evans received the keys to their new Subaru on Thursday outside of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
The Evans family stated that they were aware of their son Shaun’s frequent illnesses when he was six months old. Following multiple ER visits and doctor appointments, they were informed that Shaun suffered from heart failure and had an enlarged heart.

Shaun receives treatment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, which is adjacent to the Ronald McDonald House where the family moved from Cleveland.
Michelle had to take an Uber back and forth to her new job ever since the crash a few weeks ago.

After learning of her story, Byer’s Automotive gave the family a Subaru Forester.
“We are ecstatic and completely overwhelmed. Simply put, I’m grateful and thankful,” Rayshaun remarked. “The trip has been lengthy. It means so much to us to know that there are individuals out there that are concerned.”
Shaun is doing well, according to Rayshaun and Michelle. They claim that he is laughing and moving around a lot more than before. He’s having fun in his treatment sessions as well.
The family reports that they are happy and eager for the day when Shaun will receive a new heart and they will be able to return home.
