Big Scam! Local Rapper Sentenced to Over 14 Years in Prison for Felony Charges

Jackson, Mississippi:

For possessing more than 37 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it, a local rapper was found guilty and given a 170-month sentence in federal prison.

Court records state that 39-year-old Ronald Cobbs, Jr., also known as Lil Ron or Reverend Bankroll, was selling drugs out of his t-shirt shop in Jackson’s North Mart Plaza.

Cobbs entered a guilty plea to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in February 2024 after being indicted by a federal grand jury.

Deputy Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw and U.S. Attorney Todd Gee of the Drug Enforcement Administration made the statement.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, and Ridgeland Police Department all looked into the case.

Assistant US Attorney Keesha Middleton handled the prosecution of the case.

This case is the outcome of a protracted investigation into drug trafficking in Jackson, Mississippi, and neighboring areas.

The Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation includes this case.

A prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach that utilizes the resources of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies against criminal networks is used by OCDETF to identify, disrupt, and dismantle the highest-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations that pose a threat to the United States.
